Electrified Automation Launches New Coil Winding Technology
Electrified Automation has developed a new state-of-the-art coil winding machine that enables rectangular wire to be formed on its edge.
The company is working on a range of technologies that will provide permanent magnet electric motor manufacturers with a cost effective solution for producing coils to be utilised within their electric motor designs.
The first the company has released to the market is capable of forming copper as thin as 0.8mm, and can achieve less than two per cent swell on the corner edge radius; ensuring adopters of the machine can maximise the amount of copper and turns in each slot.
Jim Winchester, Managing Director at Electrified Automation, said: “We recognise that coil winding is often a barrier preventing our customers from moving into volume manufacture, so we have developed a number of solutions to automate the manufacturing process.
“Combining this technology with our other offerings means we are now starting to transform the way in which our customers consider manufacturing electric motors.”
