Electrified secures Government investment for high voltage motors

Electrified has been awarded substantial funding from the UK Government, enabling the company to accelerate the development and production of high voltage, high performance electric motors.
The DRIVE35 funding package from the Department for Business Trade, facilitated by the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC), is aimed at advancing manufacturing capability across the UK’s automotive industry and supporting the shift to cleaner, zero-emission technologies.
Jim Winchester, Managing Director at Electrified Motors, said: “We are thrilled to be selected for funding as part of this latest APC programme.
“The investment will allow us to expand our UK manufacturing operations and product portfolio, bringing to market motors capable of operating up to 800V with power outputs between 3kW and 50kW.
“Extending our range into the higher voltage space will give us the versatility to partner with more OEMs in the off-highway and industrial sectors as they transition away from combustion engines.”
The motors will support traction and hydraulic systems alongside Power Take-Off (PTO) systems and other ancillary drive functions, which are critical in electrifying industrial, construction and agricultural vehicles.
Ian Constance, CEO, Advanced Propulsion Centre UK and Zenzic said: “This new investment underlines the commitment from Government to secure advanced manufacturing in the UK.
“I am pleased that the APC, Zenzic, and its delivery partners are here to facilitate a new wave of funding in the automotive industry, supporting innovation, driving scale-up, and enabling transformation.”
Customer trials of the motors will begin in early 2026 with a full product launch planned for the Low Carbon Vehicle (LCV) show in September of the same year.
